A New Bed for my BIG Boy!

It was finally time for Xzavier to move out of his toddler bed. His feet were nearly to the end and with the new baby coming soon Lennox will need to be moved from the crib into the little toddler bed. We needed something with a lot of storage and it couldn't be too big, our family might be growing but our house is not. My husband is quite good in the carpentry dept so he decided to take on the challenge of creating a bed that would be perfect for our needs.

The plans were drawn up and the wood was bought. It would be a master piece, cubbies along the front and a trap door under the mattress for storage. Next was to buy a mattress, Xzavier loved this part. He was jumping from bed to bed like a wild man but we didn't care. It was his day and we wanted him to have fun with it.

Grandpa Dave Giving Pointers (literally)

Sand it good Dad. We don't want any splinters.

X thought the sander was so funny. He was giggling so hard!
The front cubbies take shape

Now the storage under the mattress is assembled.

Screw it in tight Grandpa Dave... This bed needs to stand up to three Boys!!

Lennox checking out what all the noise is about.

Assembly is complete.

Such a great Design. Good Job Trevor!
Now time to Stain

Of Course the "X" had to be represented on the Foot Board...

...and on the Head Board

X and Dad polish the wood.
"Make it shine, boys"

"Looking Hot" as Grandpa Dave said and X touched it and said "It's not Hot!" Ha, He's so Literal.

Lennox helped clean up with the Lil Broom...

...and Xzavier used the Big Broom
Dad finished up

and Xzavier put away the garbage can.

On our way to the mattress dept. Xzavier and "Big Mamma"

Checking out the durability.
"This one is too Comfy!" Ha, He reads The Three Bears too much.

Here comes the New Bed.

Thanks for the Help Josh!

The boys were so excited to check it out.

Putting on the finishing touches.

Thanks for the help L.

Too Cool!
I think Xzavier laid on there for an hour without getting down.

He's so happy with his new bed.

He says "Its Comfy Cozy!"

"and I can even hide in the Cubbies!"

Thank you so much Trevor, You did a wonderful job and I'm so proud of you (as always). You're a great Father and an even better Husband. Thanks for EVERYTHING that you DO!! I'm So Lucky to have a Man like you in my Life!!!

Easter Art and Easter Morning

Of course we had to make an Easter art project and Color Eggs but this year we were happy to share our "daycare" projects with Grandpa Dave. Grandpa was here for a few days before Easter and Easter Morning. I know I always say it but... I just love having family around especially when there are fun events to share with them.

Lennox wasn't too sure about the Giant Bunny this year.

Coloring Eggs with Grandpa Dave was so much fun

Liam loved to plop the eggs in the glasses... even if they did break.

Xzavier even used the wire dipper this time.
Lennox watched with a snack and Grandpa Dave made some colored eggs in his honor.

Then we decorated paper eggs with shapes...

and Grandpa Dave Helped
